Summary

Albion Farms and Fisheries believes in the continuous improvement process and takes an active role in the ongoing enhancement of external fisheries and aquaculture projects we source from. As a co-founder of Sea Pact, which funds multiple improvement projects around the world, as well as our own internal engagement in FIPs, AFF is committed to long term steps to convert AFF’s current unsustainable seafood options into becoming long term sustainable sources. Our involvement with the Ocean Disclosure Project provides us with a beneficial tool to assess our sourcing efforts and create an ongoing level of accountability to our conversion and improvement efforts in the future.

Albion Farms and Fisheries Ltd. recognizes its role in helping ensure an eco-friendly, sustainable future for the seafood we buy and sell, and the overall health of our oceans. We aim to be a model of sustainability in the Canadian seafood marketplace and to emerge as a proactive leader that is well positioned to supply sustainable seafood products. This is why it was important for us to the be the first Canadian supplier to participate in the ODP.  We hope our participation will act as a catalyst for other Canadian companies to participate in this very important project and lead to a more progressive and transparent Seafood marketplace.
